Netiquette

What is Netiquette?

Netiquette is the appropriate way to communicate on the Internet. Digital citizens should always speak in the appropriate tone while communicating via the internet. Listed below are a few technology communication tips:

  • Never Communicate with another person in an aggressive manner
    • Always speak in a nice and easy tone.
  • Always make sure that your grammar and punctuation is up to par. (This is critical)
    • Spell check should always be used before you send an email or turn in a document.
    • Spell check will also eliminate punctuation errors as well.
  • When you are responding to discussion questions in a school or work setting, you should always be considerate of others.
    • Not everyone has the same thought process as you or personality. Think before you respond.
  • Don't talk about any other subject matters outside of the lesson or topic at hand.
    • Don't divert from the topic
    • Never share information on the internet that has nothing to do with your class
  • People may have different opinions than you and that's okay.
    • Don't bash others for their responses.
